For those who are unfamiliar with wedding car etiquette, here is our direction on how to make your wedding day transportation run smoothly. First of all there are no strict procedures on wedding car etiquette. It’s your wedding day and you choose who travels in a certain car. It is your preference whether you opt for traditional etiquette or not which is quite uncomplicated.
The Bride travels to the ceremony accompanied by her Father or the person who is giving her away in one car. Most couples go for a second car that will carry the Brides Mother and the Bridesmaids. The Groom will arrive with his Best Man or Ushers, not necessarily in a wedding car. After the ceremony the Bride & Groom travel together to the next destination, normally for photographs with the car at the reception venue. The Bridesmaids will travel in the car they arrived in back to the reception. The parents and the rest of the Bridal party will have made alternative travel plans to that location. That is basically it!
Whenever possible, our drivers will return to the ceremony to pick up members of your wedding party. At any wedding, time management is an important issue for guests so you have to take the distances involved between locations into consideration. It is of the uppermost importance that you take into account the timing of the trips and the logistics of the distance involved and unpredictable traffic, they all have to be taken into consideration. Irrespective of the amount of journeys involved you will not be charged any additional hidden cost.
You will also find that we don’t pressurise the Bridal party to rush through the photography involving our wedding cars until the Bride & Groom plus the photographer are satisfied and are in agreement that the cars are no longer required. Our chauffeur will be more than willing to take the newly-weds for a drive after the ceremony to a destination of their choice, perhaps for more photographs or for a few precious moments alone together to reflect on the day so far before heading back to the celebrations. It will also give them a chance to finish off the free bottle of champagne courtesy of Keyhole Motors.
If you are in a car with a soft top roof, weather permitting we can fold down the roof which allows the newly-weds to return in style. If it does rain on your wedding day, don’t despair as it’s said to be lucky. The rain can of course interfere with your photography plans which is why our cars carry white umbrellas. So if it is a rainy day our chauffeur will make sure you keep dry whilst you get your photographs taken.
All of our cars are decorated with ribbon and bows in a colour of your choice at no extra cost. Some wedding car companies will quote you a low estimate, with the mention of additional costs such as photography waiting time, mileage charge even for a local wedding, ribbons and bows and refreshments.
