When speaking to couples about our Aston Martin DB9 Wedding Car it is often said that its ‘my dream car!!’ by both the bride and groom.
There is no doubt that the Aston Martin DB9 is a fine automobile. It has great looks, an enormous amount of power, sexiness and above all a brand with a great history.
Priced from as little as £225, it’s a great surprise for your partner on the day of the wedding, or something to wow your bridal party.
There are many plus points to the car that James Bond chose to drive, but what are the practicalities of living with a DB9 as your day to day ride…..
I have taken it upon myself in the name of research, to drive the DB9 for an entire week just to bring YOU this informative blog!
First of all there isn’t a great deal of space for anything other that you (the driver), a passenger and a mid size ruck sack, or 4 well packed bags from Tesco in the boot.
The counter argument for the lack of space is the ENORMOUS cool factor the car has, rocking up to any event in this vehicle turns heads. Combined with the roar of the 6L V12 engine, its simply breathtaking.
Now what supercar is practical….? I’m not going to get caught up on that one!
Secondly, speed bumps slow you down to a ridiculous low speed due to the cars low profile. Go too fast over a bump and back to the workshop she goes for a new nose and undercarriage…. Yes it has been done!
Thirdly, there is nothing discreet to the car, its not the kind of vehicle you want to go to a funeral in. Its too loud, and draws too much attention… I have first hand experience of this matter!
That said, we are selling this as a wedding car, not a funeral car. So there shouldn’t be anything to worry about with that point!
All of that aside, the Aston Martin DB9 is a fabulous car. One of the most satisfying moments in the weeks test was when I went to watch the latest James Bond movie, Spectre in the cinema with my wife. Although Bond has now upgraded to the Aston Martin DB10, it gave me great pride holding our DB9 key alongside my box of popcorn watching the 007 agent blow stuff up!
